At our training center, we’re proud to offer Scotland’s only Skid Car facility, led by fully qualified instructors with 15 to 25 years of experience under their belts.

We’ve recently upgraded to the most advanced Skid Car in the world. Paired with a brand-new Ford Mondeo and state-of-the-art Skid-Car frame, this setup allows us to provide expert training on Electronic Stability Control (ESC)—a lifesaving feature found in most modern vehicles.

Why ESC Matters

ESC kicks in when your vehicle loses steering control. This could happen during:

• Emergency evasive swerves
• Understeer or oversteer on slippery roads
• Hydroplaning

By helping your car regain traction, ESC can prevent accidents caused by these unexpected situations.

Whether you’re a new driver or have decades of experience, every day on the road presents unique challenges. The key is being able to respond quickly and instinctively.

What Our Skid Car Course Offers

Using cutting-edge technology, we simulate various hazardous scenarios, teaching you how to:

• Recognize a potential skid
• Overcome loss of control
• Prevent accidents before they happen

 

Our 3.5-hour, half-day course based on 3 students or 1.5hrs per person covers:

• Understeer, oversteer, and 4×4 driving
• Moving off safely on compact snow or ice
• Evasive maneuvers
• Cadence (pulse) braking
• Managing total loss of control

What to Expect

When you arrive, you’ll get a hands-on introduction to the car and the causes of skidding. Then, it’s over to you—it’s time to take the wheel and begin your Skid Car experience!

Tailored to Your Driving Needs

We understand that not everyone drives the latest car with the newest technology. That’s why we tailor the course to suit your vehicle and skill level:

For cars with ABS:
ABS helps prevent skidding by maintaining traction during braking. On our course, you’ll learn how cadence braking can shorten your stopping distance and reduce accident risk.

For cars without ABS:
We’ll teach you how to safely stop your vehicle in an emergency, even without ABS. We’ll also demonstrate the benefits of having ABS and why it’s a must-have feature for every driver.
